2019 Fleurie, Charbonniéres, Domaine Chapel

Kleine uitzondering op de regel van Burgundy or NOWHERE 😅. Deze zeer noordelijk gelegen Cru uit de Beaujolais heeft wel een Bourgondisch karakter, d.w.z. elegant, verfijnd, gelaagd.

Perhaps I should change the name to Burgundy or Beaujolais because this Fleurie from Domaine Chapel is something else.

2019 drinks so well right now. Damn thats delicious 😋. From a steeply sloped east facing granite plot in Fleurie. Charbonniéres. Worth a visit if you fancy a climb ⛰️ 🪜. Very special and complex, untamed, wild and free terroir shaped like an amphitheatre enclosed in a forest providing different fruit from different sides within the same climate. It feels alive and so does this wine.

Fragrant red fruit. Wild raspberries, strawberry and red current. Mineral earthy underline, super fine tannins. Licorice. Mild white pepper. Roses, smokey goodness and a bit of farm on the nose but very elegant and in no way disturbing. Uncontested elevated and silky mouthfeel like french kissing for the first time without braces. 😁❤️😜
