2019 Saint Amour, En Chatenay, Château de Lavernette

Kleine uiterzondering op de regel van Burgundy or NOWHERE 😅. Deze meest noordelijk gelegen Cru uit de Beaujolais heeft wel een Bourgondisch karakter, d.w.z. elegant, verfijnd, gelaagd.

QTN Quick taste notes 2-2022:

2019, warm year resulting in 14,5%, however well integrated. Not noticable on the nose, perhaps slighty down the throat. Warm bold/savoury styled Gamay. 18 months oak but again well integrated and not overpowering the beautiful red fruit. Comforting wine. Very rich caramel finish. Grippy smooth tannins. Think of Morgon in a way. New plot and new wine for this producer. Nice addition. Warmer and easier to drink then the cuvee Beaujolais Leynes Jadis. And more modern then the classy old skool cuvee Le Châtelet.
