QTN Quick taste notes 2020:
50cl, Non Vintage, bought in early 2020. A late 100% Chardonnay harvest, from Macon-Villages. Made in about 50% of vintages, when the conditions suit. They pick mid-November, trying to avoid botrytis, Chardonnay is normally not a good grape for noble rot. Golden colour, the nose is really tropical, ripe peach, guava, apricot and honeysuckle. The palate is honeyed, a touch of beeswax, apricots. Medium(+) acidity. Really quite good! Some residual sugar on the palate, perhaps medium sweet so not overly sweet. Still some chardo freshness underneath. Hidden gem from Burgundy. Works wonders with foie gras and chocolate deserts i can imagine.
