The Champagne region has over 34,000 hectares of vineyards, with only a handful of well-known names such as Veuve Cliquot, Moët-Chandon, and Dom Perignon. However, there are more than 14,000 other vineyards owned and managed by individual growers, like Franck and his daughter Riviere. Together, father and daughter work hand in hand to develop a wine that is representative of their terroir and expertise, representing the fourth and fifth generations of Champagne Rivière.
Welcome to Grower Champagne, also known as Récoltant manipulant (RM). RM is a classification given to vineyard owners who plant the vines, cultivate and harvest the grapes, and make, label, and sell the Champagne. This is why it is often referred to as single origin Champagne.
In Cramant, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Champagne Franck Rivière is produced by Franck and Louison Rivière, father and daughter. What is the specialty of the house? Their Blanc de Blancs, of course. Champagne Franck Rivière hides an artistic family. Franck, the father, is a talented pianist, while Louison, the daughter, has her own silk-screen printing studio in Cramant. In transitioning to organic viticulture, Champagne Franck Rivière practices sustainable farming. All treatments applied in the vineyards are HVE (High Environmental Value) certified.
Delicious with fish in cream sauce, a light dish, or poultry with morels.
100% Chardonnay. The nose is very fresh and expressive, chalky, and invigorating. Aromas of citrus, lime, and floral notes.
The entry is very subtle, and the bubbles are very elegant. Plenty of fresh young acidity lingers for a long time. Beautiful yellow fruit alternates with floral aromas and stone fruits, with a very slight round richness. This crystal-clear Chardonnay undoubtedly deserves its Grand Cru status and can be aged for a decade but can also be enjoyed right away!
