This white Burgundy from Pouilly-Fuissé is made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from vines with an average age of 55 years, aged in oak barrels. The wine has a light golden-yellow color and is stunning with a luxurious tear structure. The aromatic profile is intense and typically Burgundian, featuring notes of roasted hazelnuts, candied pineapple, vanilla, and a subtle hint of oak. The flavor is creamy and full, with nuances of apricots, peaches, and butterscotch, complemented by refreshing citrus notes, delicate tannins, and a touch of vanilla. This refined Burgundy offers a balance between fruit and acidity, without the oak overwhelming the palate.
Ideal to serve with a refined fish dish or white meat.

The Mâconnais is primarily known for its white wines, mainly made from the Chardonnay grape. The region has several appellations, including Mâcon-Villages, Viré-Clessé, Pouilly-Fuissé, and Saint-Véran, which are the most prominent. These wines are fresh, fruity, and often characterized by fine minerality reminiscent of the top wines from northern Burgundy but with a softer and more approachable style. The wines from the Mâconnais often display a pronounced terroir that subtly differs from village to village, giving each bottle its unique character.
At Burgundy or Nowhere, you will find an extensive selection of Mâconnais wines, from well-known names to hidden gems. We are particularly excited about the wines from Domaine de la Chapelle, whose Saint-Véran is known for its impressive depth and complexity at a reasonable price. Our goal is to offer wines where the price reflects what is in the bottle, not just the name on the label.
