This 2022 vintage is much drier and slimmer than, for example, the 2021 vintage. While 2021 should be a difficult and fresh vintage, it is now exactly the opposite world with freshly squeezed lemons with matchsticks like you would expect when drinking something from 2021. A smoky blanket over structured and chisled mineral acids. Pure oyster water. Despite its acidity, the wine cannot be called sharp. A real Aligoté as it should be with rounded, clean and juicy acidity. You should not drink this vintage too cold. Basement temperature for example, but certainly not served directly from the refrigerator. This detracts from the refined character of this wine.
The 2021 vintage is an insane amount of wine. It's tastes like something 5 times the price. Strange amount of development in a good surprising way. Does make it feel like a drink now kinda wine. Slight oxi but nothing over the top. Soft character, not a hard hitter but more comfy rich. Serve cold. Sherry nuttiness & butter that carry over to the finish, warm hay, good acidity in the finish. Could do with more acidity overall. Finish is way above "normal" for aligotées. Big Burgundy character like an aged Puligny for next to nothing
