QTN Quick taste notes 5-2021:
2019, far easier to drink compared to 18 or 17. More red fruit but with the same known elegance and freshness of an old Skool Givry. Dangerously good. Silky smooth. Low stock already...max 24 bottles per person at domaine. Give air. Goes great with Indonesian food. Oak more dominant then previous vintage, good for cellaring. Little bit sweet for now given the oak. Needs 2 more years at least before it will shine. But then it will be amazing...
Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and dark cherries. Notes of clove, vanilla and licorice. Juicy, smooth and fruity. Fruit driven style with luscious crunchy red fruit. High concentration, good acidity and intensity. Long finish.
Yields are naturally limited due to the age of vines that have been organically cultivated since 2012. So BIO, not certified. The fruit is completely de-stemmed with a majority uncrushed, minimal use of SO2, then 12 months barrel maturation in a maximum of 30% new oak, bottled after another three or four months of rest in tank.
Monopole; An appellation or other designated winegrowing region controlled entirely by one winery.
QTN Quick taste notes 7-2023:
2019, getting much better! Sweetness from the 12 months new oak is getting more and more integrated. Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and dark cherries. Pure herbaceous notes of clove, vanilla and licorice. Juicy, smooth and fruity. The juice from these completely destemmed and gravity pressed grapes is both delicate and generous. Fruit driven style with luscious crunchy red fruit. High concentration, good acidity and intensity. Long finish. Sheer comfort but complexity still has a lot to gain in the future. Enjoy now or till 2035+.
