QTN Quick taste notes 11-2022:
Pinot Fin, not Noir. Toasty, fleshy, hairy, animal, leather vibe. Herbaceous and concentrated Gevrey texture elements. Rich, enchanting roses on the nose. But quite oaked for now. Intense sweet red fruit. High concentration. Full bodied. Grippy spicy finish. Little bit on the playful sweeter side along decent acidity. Needs something meaty for foodpairing and more age. Pinot Fin is an ancient clone of Pinot Noir that is very rarely found anymore in Burgundy. Today, the notoriously finicky pinot fin is rarely planted and can be found only in some parts of Burgundy. It has very small berries which makes the wines more precious as they are low yielding. They show lovely weight and rich red berries/cherry fruits with a hint of gaminess and delicate wild mushroom.
