2020, fancy Chardonnay, pure, vibrant with the creamy waxy richness of the 2020 vintage with some nice elegant wet stony minerals and pear at the start of the mouth towards a satisfying sour candy, spicy kick and umami finish. Lovely polished mouthfeel with nice weight but never heavy or bulky. Still a little compact at first so some air will do it good and shows good potential to grow over the years to come. Very balanced all round crowdpleaser as it has character, comfort and luxurious accessibility with fresh underlaying minerals to please wine professionals and amateurs.
(Champ)Pourot could be a reference to Perrier or Champs de Pierre, stone path, stonefield, gravel. Comforting 12 months of french oak. Côte Chalonnaise provides a nice bridge between the friendliness and drinkability of the Maconnais and the leaner serious styles from the Beaune area. Drink now until 2028. Bio-Demeter
